Five Pan Macmillan authors in running for best new books of the year
Five Pan Macmillan authors are in the running for this year’s Galaxy National Book Awards, the annual awards for the best new books of the year in the UK

Carol Ann Duffy (The Bees) and Alan Hollinghurst (The Stranger’s Child) are both in the running for Waterstone's UK Author of the Year.

Room by Emma Donoghue has been nominated for the WHSmith Paperback of the Year.

Heartstone by C.J. Sansom is nominated for Crime Novel of the Year.

Red Dust Road by Jackie Kay is nominated for Autobiography of the Year.

The awards ceremony will be held on Friday 4th November 2011, hosted by comedian Dara O’Briain and filmed by Cactus TV to be broadcast in six episodes across November and December.
