Please read these competition rules carefully. If you enter one of our competitions, we will assume that you have read these rules and agree to them.

When you enter a Pan Macmillan Competition we ask you to give us some information about yourself from time to time (such as your name, address and e-mail address). We take the privacy of any personal information you give us very seriously, and this policy tells you how we collect information from you, what we use your information for, and your rights in relation to this.

If there is anything in this policy that you do not understand, or you have a question about how we use your personal information, please write to us at the address given at the end of this policy.

What personal information is collected about me?

When you enter a competition, we may ask you to give us information such as your name, address, e-mail address. We call this 'personal information'.

How do you use that personal information?

We may use the information you give us to send you notification of any new titles published by Pan Macmillan Limited that we think might be of interest to you and also to let you know if you have won a competition. You can tell us at any time that you do not wish us to use personal information to send you notification of any books published by Pan Macmillan Limited that we think might be of interest to you by writing to us at the address given at the end of this policy or by e-mailing us at f.stewart@macmillan.co.uk. If you write to or e-mail us, please include your full name, address and e-mail address so we can check our records to see who you are. Once you have let us know that you want us to cease using the personal information in this way we will cease to use the information you give us to send you notification of books.

Do you share my information with anyone else?

We will only share your personal information to someone else if the law says that we have to do this or if we believe that we need to do this to protect and defend our or your rights, property or personal safety.

Security

We place great importance on the security of your personal information, and we have taken security measures to try to prevent the loss, misuse and alteration of personal information that we collect and hold. While we cannot ensure or guarantee that loss, misuse or alteration of your personal information will not occur, we will do our best to try to make sure that this does not happen.

Where is the information stored

We keep any personal information you send to us on a computer located in the United Kingdom. We need to do this in order to process the information you send us and to send you text messages as a member of the Club.

If you enter into a competition, we will assume that you have read through this policy carefully, and understand and accept it. If you do not wish us to use personal information to send you notification of any books published by Pan Macmillan Limited you should ask us to stop using your personal information for that purpose as mentioned above. If you do not agree to anything in this policy, then you should not enter the competition. If we change our privacy policy we will post these changes on this page. If the change in our privacy policy affects the way in which we may use your personal information, then we will do our best to contact you to make sure you agree to this.

Your rights

You have a legal right to a copy of all the personal information that we hold about you. You also have a right to ask us to correct any mistakes in that information. As mentioned above, you also have a right to ask us to stop using your personal information to contact you at any time.
