Calum Challenger is a boy with a mission: to track down supposedly mythological creatures and capture their DNA. But while Calum and his friends want to save these beings, an aggressive pharmaceutical company wants to wipe them out.

In this fast-paced, high-tech story, Calum and a group of misfit mates – a computer hacker, a freerunner, an ex-marine and a girl with a very big chip on her shoulder – criss-cross the globe, desperately trying to stay one step ahead of their enemy.

This book was great fun to read and I think that it would be a good read for any teenager. It has a strong plot which is full of unexpected twists, turns and developments.

Andrew Lane made all the difference... It's nice to have an author who occasionally indulges us all in wild flights of fantasy
The Guardian Children's Books
Conan Doyle knew how to tell a rattling good adventure yarn and without a doubt so does Andrew Lane. He writes fluidly, introducing his characters with style and humour, never labouring a scene or wasting words; admirable qualities for any author, but in some ways, even more necessary for someone writing for a younger audience

About Andrew Lane

Andrew Lane is an author, journalist and lifelong Sherlock Holmes fan. This is his first series for young adults. He lives in Hampshire with his wife and son. Andrew's passion for the original novels of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and his determination to create an authentic teenage Sherlock Holmes made him the perfect choice to work with the Conan Doyle Estate to reinvent the world’s most famous detective in this new series.
