Tom Percival grew up in a remote and beautiful part of South Shropshire. On reflection this seemed rather more remote than beautiful, owing to the fact that he lived in a small caravan without electricity, mains water or any sensible form of heating. He thinks that he's probably one of the few people in his peer group to have learned to read by gas lamp. "
"An established picture-book author and illustrator, his books for younger readers include A Home for Mr Tipps and Jack's Amazing Shadow. Tom has made his first foray into the world of writing chapter books with the Little Legends series for Macmillan Children's Books, beginning with The Spell Thief.

Those Book Boys have given Little Legends The Spell Thief the once over in this great video review. What's the most embarrassing thing you've ever done?

This month I will have drawn all the roughs and all the final art for Little Legends book 5 (The Secret Mountain) as well as doing a good few pieces of cover art and a few other bits too. I'm feeling pretty much ready for Christmas now... Anyway, you can watch me draw a picture of a VICIOUS fight between Wolfie and Ella in slightly less time than it actually took me.

It's nearly ten years since I did the first piece of artwork for Derek Landy's Skulduggery Pleasant and the publishers are re-packaging the series, which gave me a chance to revisit these great characters. More to come as I do the pictures!

All about Tom Percival shared Stroud Book Festival's post.
If you're near Stroud on 19th November, you could do worse with your time than popping along to this. Like perhaps trying to count how many corners there are in your house. THAT would definitely be a worse way to spend your time...
