Tor Freeman was born and educated in London and graduated from Kingston University with a BA in illustration in 1999. Although most of her life has been spent in London, time spent living in California and her mother's home in South Africa have influenced her work today. Memories of beachcombing, evenings outside and local animals and insects come back to her whenever she picks up a pencil. Tor was recently awarded the prestigious Maurice Sendak Fellowship.

If you're in London tomorrow please do come to the Illustrators' Fair at Granary Square! A lovely place for Christmas presents, browsing and eating! I'll be sharing a table with Sharon Chai and Marta Altés, it'd be lovely to say hello! And lots of other brill illustrators, Alice Lickens-Richards, Barnaby Lickens-Richards, Frann Preston-Gannon, Lynne Pritchard, Shelley Revill, and Steven Lenton! Should be a super day!
