Oprah Winfrey has surprised fans with a cover reveal for her first cookbook, Food, Health and Happiness: ‘On Point’ Recipes for Great Meals and a Better Life, out in the UK on 23rd February 2017.

Revealing the cover via her social media and an exclusive with PEOPLE, Oprah said in a statement:

“As long as I can remember, I’ve been the kind of person who wants to share the things that make life better. When I come upon something useful, something that brings me pleasure or comfort or ease, I want everyone else to know about it and benefit from it, too. And that is how this cookbook came to be. It’s my life story — the lessons I’ve learned, the discoveries I’ve made — told through food.”

Robin Harvie, Non-fiction Publisher at Pan Macmillan said, ‘We’re honoured to be Oprah Winfrey’s chosen publisher. We’ve seen great success, both in the UK and internationally with What I Know For Sure  and the O’s Little Guide series and are so proud to be publishing Oprah’s first cookbook; a beautiful and personal book with recipes that are as healthy as they are delicious. Oprah Winfrey is an inspiration and I know that her fans around the world will be putting on their aprons to cook her delicious recipes in no time.’

Oprah Winfrey has spent her life trying to make peace with food, which has been such a source of pleasure and meaning for her. Now Oprah has found ways to have her favourite meals while also controlling her weight, and in Food, Health and Happiness she shares not only her struggles with food but also the recipes that have allowed food to be a source of joy for her again.

With help from the chefs who have cooked for her over the years such as Rosie Daley, Art Smith, Mei Lin, Taryn Huebner and Sonny Sweetman, this is an extraordinarily personal cookbook while also being an invitation to Oprah's many fans to eat both healthfully and happily. From simple pleasures such as 'Unfried Chicken' or 'Turkey Chilli' to such celebrations of freshness as 'Farro With Peas, Asparagus, Pesto and Cured Olives' and 'Chilean Sea Bass with Lemon Fennel Chutney', this is food as it should be: a source of happiness, a ritual to be shared, a celebration of life.
