Astray shortlisted for Novel of the Year at the Irish Book Awards
‘Emma Donoghue writes books that are unlike anything I have ever seen before, and Astray is no exception. There is such a deep and compassionate imagination at work in every story in this collection that Astray feels almost like an act of clairvoyance.’
We agree with Ann Patchett, and so did the shortlisting panel for the Bord Gáis Energy Irish Book Awards, who have shortlisted Emma's collection for the Eason Novel of the Year. The finalists are all strong contenders for the award, which is given to the book which represents the best of Irish publishing that year and which has raised the profile of books outside the industry. The winner will be announced at the Awards Dinner on 22nd November 2012.
