Changes at picador.com
You might have noticed some changes around here. We’ve upgraded picador.com to make it THE place for you to come and discover new books. We’re really excited about it, and we hope you will be too!
The best way to explore the site is to register. When you’ve done that, you’ll be able to add books you’ve read, are reading, or want to read to your bookshelf in the My Picador section of the site. Here’s what my reading list looks like at the moment:
When you follow someone, we’ll recommend you books that we think you might like, based on what that person has read and liked. You’ll see those books in the My recommended books bars around the site:
The more you select what you do and don’t like, the better we’ll get at recommending books to you.
All of the Picador editors have a profile on the site and you can follow them, too. We hope that following them will give you inspiration when you’re looking for a good book to read. Have a look at their bookshelves:
Paul Baggaley, Picador Publisher
Francesca Main, Editorial Director
Kris Doyle, Editor
Sophie Jonathan, Assistant Editor
Charlie Mundy, Editorial Assistant
As well as all this, you can follow your favourite authors to hear their latest news, read any blog posts by them or about them, and find out about any events they’re doing.
These four little icons at the top will, from left to right, let you know when someone follows you, tell you when a new book is on its way, keep you up to date with any events, and alert you to new blog posts on the site.
For now, the site is in beta. This means there might be the odd error or that something doesn’t work as well as it could. We hope you find it easy to use and would love any feedback you might have, good and bad.
