John Glenday heads home to read from his new collection

15 December 2009

I carved out the careful absence of a hill and a hill grew.

I cut away the fabric of the trees

and the trees stood shivering in the darkness

Edinburgh's poetry lovers braved the freezing rain to hear John Glenday read some of his powerful poems from his wonderful collection Grain, with one poem even being set to music and sung by the talented Kim Edgar. It was a fantastic evening, and the Poetry Library was the perfect venue in which to be ensconced, listening to John's resonant and moving poetry. Thanks so much to the Scottish Poetry Library and the Poetry Association of Scotland for organising such a fantastic event.
