Kim Zupan: from rodeo to writing

13 August 2014

Kim Zupan has worked as a ranch hand, in a smelter, as a commercial fisherman in Alaska, on jet aeroplanes, and now as a carpenter and carpentry teacher. He's also written a brilliant novel called The Ploughmen‚Äč, which tells the story of two men – a killer awaiting trial, and a troubled young deputy – and the conversations they have as they sit across from each other in the dark, talking through the bars of a jail cell.

Here's Kim talking about the novel, his inspirations, his writing, and a dramatic accident he had as a rodeo rider...

And here's Kim reading from the beginning of the book.
