14 September 2011

Rachael Boast's debut collection Sidereal has also been shortlisted for the Aldeburgh First Collection Prize 2011, one of the most influential and established poetry prizes in the UK.

The Poetry Trust highlighted the five shortlisted poets as ‘ones-to-watch’ amongst the next generation of UK poets.

The other poets to make the shortlist are: Tom Duddy, Nancy Gaffield, Ed Reiss and Jacqueline Saphra.

This year’s winner will be announced at the start of the 23rd Aldeburgh Poetry Festival on Friday 4 November 2011.

This is yet more acclaim for Sidereal, which has been shortlisted for the Forward Prize for Best First Collection, and is also on the longlist for the Guardian First Book Award.

Sidereal is one of only five collections to have reached the shortlist, out of the 74 titles that were submitted for the prize.
