COVER REVEAL: STARBORN, HEARTLAND & FIRESTORM
19 December 2016
By Phoebe Taylor
We are so delighted to show off *all new* covers for Lucy Hounsom's Worldmaker series. This trilogy is an action-packed adventure of betrayal and salvation. We dive into a vividly imagined world of unnatural storms, hidden cities and concealed powers. And our heroine Kyndra will be given the power to right an ancient wrong, as her land is torn apart by mysterious forces. Yes, it's a fantastic fantasy read!
But what's the story behind our incredible new covers?! We were very happy with our original Starborn cover, it was a beauty. But when it seemed that there was going to be a very long gap between the three books, we decided to look again at the master plan. Sometimes, if readers have to wait too long for the new book, they *forget* about a series! Horror of horrors, but it does happen. So we decided to make Lucy's books unmissable by waiting to release them - so we could then publish them in rapid succession. And with a bit of time on our hands, why not make them *even more magnetic* by trying some new covers? And just LOOK. AT. THEM. We've gone for something classy and contemporary that breathes action and excitement. Aren't they amazing? Designer Stuart Wilson has done a phenomenal job. Starborn will be reissued in August, alongside the all new Heartland. Then Firestorm follows swiftly afterwards in December.
If you can't wait until next August to dive into this series, STARBORN is already available in paperback and ebook! Or why not try a free online extract?

Praise for Starborn
‘Evocative, original worldbuilding and a wonderfully feisty heroine: top marks to Lucy Hounsom’
‘A brave heroine, a perilous destiny, and an intriguing world full of myth and mystery make for an enthralling read’
Gail Z. Martin
‘I thought it was great, reminding me of Trudi Canavan; it had me turning pages way into the night, which is not good at my age! What a mix: immersive worldbuilding, secret societies, a flawed and hugely likeable protagonist, and awesome magic. There’s a lot to like here, but be warned, this book will seriously damage your sleep’
‘Has all the elements to become a modern classic of the genre. It’s essentially a coming-of-age story that breaks out into a wide-screen fantasy extravaganza with huge stakes’
Independent on Sunday
‘For those readers with a yearning for a novel with a Trudi Canavan/David Eddings-type vibe, but with a contemporary twist, Starborn may be just the ticket’
'A genuinely impressive debut, and Lucy Hounsom is definitely one to watch'
