As a vicar's son, David Wilbourne worked in a bank before becoming parish priest in Helmsley. He served as the Archbishop of York's chaplain and as a canon of York Minster, before moving to be a bishop in Cardiff. His latest book, Shepherd of Another Flock, catches his love of wandering and cycling through the iconic Yorkshire countryside, shrewdly observing the quirks, poignancy and humour of the characters he bumps into. He tenderly cherishes even the most unpromising situation or person, sharing their tears and laughter with a wider audience.

David Wilbourne has spent the majority of his ministry in Yorkshire, and was Vicar of Helmsley for twelve years. In 2009 he was consecrated Assistant Bishop of Llandaff, working with the Archbishop of Wales. He is also a writer and broadcaster.
