Reflecting Realities: British Values in Childrens Literature Conference "
"This timely and important conference will consider the role that childrens literature has to play in helping us make sense of the world around us and our place within it. Delegates will explore why we need to ensure that children from all backgrounds and experiences are represented in the books they encounter. They will investigate how high quality children's literature can be used to raise self-esteem, encourage empathy and develop social cohesion; creating a foundation upon which our pupils can grow to be resilient, articulate, confident and literate individuals. "
"Delegates will hear from legends in the field of childrens literature sharing the wealth of their experience and how this has informed and continues to shape the landscape, including Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE and Elizabeth Laird.
