Honour Among Thebes - Natalie haynes at the Birmingham Literature Festival

Birmingham’s own Natalie Haynes, writer, broadcaster and comedian, takes on Oedipus in her second novel, The Children of Jocasta. A new telling of an ancient story, with women to the fore, The Observer finds her work ‘vivid and affecting’. " " " "To introduce the book Natalie will present a humorous history of Ancient Greece which she is calling ‘Honour Among Thebes’. We love it already. " " " "“When you have grown up as I have, there is no security in not knowing things, in avoiding the ugliest truths because they can’t be faced”.
