Literary Natives will launch monthly events for writers of colour to discuss issues relating to writing, books, and the road to becoming a published author. The day will include: An interactive panel discussion with debut authors. We will be joined by Victoria Princewill, the author of In The Palace of Flowers, a newly acquired historical novel by Cassava Republic. Also on the panel is Muhammad Khan, the author of the debut YA novel I Am Thunder, soon to be published by Macmillan and featured on Apple iBook's Hot List for 2018. Our third panelist is Sabeena Akhtar, the editor of a ground-breaking collection of essays entitled Cut From the Same Cloth by British Muslim women. Muhammad Khan is a maths teacher in a secondary school in Tooting and takes his inspiration from the children he teaches, as well as his own upbringing as a British-born Pakistani. He lives in South London and will be studying for a creative writing MA next year at Roehampton.
