Publicity Executive

Publicity Executive, Bluebird

Digital and Communications

Pan Macmillan is one of the most successful publishers in the UK, winning Publisher of the Year twice in the last four years with market-beating year-on-year growth over the last six years. Our Communications division is multi-award-winning, with numerous Nibbies, Book Marketing Society and Publishers’ Publicity Circle prizes on our shelves.

Launched just four years ago, Bluebird is the home of industry-shaking, record-breaking books from the likes of Joe Wicks and Pinch of Nom, bestsellers by Jack Monroe and Russell Brand, and exciting, vital new voices on subjects spanning mental health, feminism, food and drink, parenting and personal development. We are a boutique imprint publishing around 20 new non-fiction titles a year, and our books share a mission to help people live happier lives.

We have an exciting opportunity for a creative, highly organized and ambitious junior publicist to join our energetic Communications team. You will devise and implement your own publicity campaigns for both front and backlist titles, as well as supporting the Bluebird Publicity Manager on their campaigns. You will arrange tours and accompany authors to events, so both your organizational and interpersonal skills will be exemplary. You will have some experience of working on campaigns, and be able to pitch our books effectively and passionately to the media. You will have excellent attention to detail and be willing to support the Bluebird Communications team in various administrative tasks as required. As well as being part of the Bluebird team, you will also have the opportunity to work across titles and projects from Pan Macmillan divisions Pan and Picador when the need arises. You may currently be working as a Publicity Assistant or Junior Executive keen to move up to the next level.

We are looking for someone with an exceptionally creative approach, someone who is able to come up with new ideas for reaching our various audiences outside of the usual bookshop and publishing spaces. Publishing experience is not necessarily required but publicity knowledge and a passion for books is.

In return we can offer you a range of great projects, a creative, fun and supportive working environment at one of the most exciting imprints in publishing, as well as a competitive salary and benefits package.

This role is permanent and will be based in our stunning new offices in Farringdon.
