Macmillan Children’s Books is a division of Pan Macmillan and is one of the UK’s leading children’s publishers, creating great stories for all ages for over 150 years.
This is an exciting opportunity for a Rights Assistant to join the busy and successful Rights team at Macmillan Children’s Books providing administrative support for the team.
The Rights Department is responsible for the sale of co-edition and subsidiary rights for the Macmillan Children’s Books, Two Hoots, Campbell and Kingfisher imprints around the world. Our lists include award-winning picture books, novelty titles, non-fiction and fiction books.
General admin support for all co-edition and license sales
General departmental administration
Data imputing and report generating
Compilation of monthly sales report
Organization of book fair and sales trip schedules
Sending out follow up material after book fairs and sales trips
Supporting and administrating some of the fulfilment process
Liaising with production regarding customer packing and shipping requirements
Liaising with accounts regarding customer invoicing
Drafting of contracts for all co-edition and license deals
Sale of permissions and drawing up of permissions agreements
Attending Bookfairs and carrying out reception duties
Experience / skills required:
Knowledge / experience of Publishing, ideally Rights and/or Permissions
Desire to work in a busy international sales department
Highly computer literate, with particularly strong skills in MS Office. Knowledge of Biblio is desirable
Able to demonstrate excellent written, verbal and numerical skills
Able to demonstrate excellent organisational skills within a busy environment, particularly managing and prioritising own workload
Able to work on own initiative as well as part of a team
Problem solving skills
Knowledge of a foreign language desirable
Experience of working in a similar environment / office work experience desirable
