Trade Marketing Designer
Pan Macmillan is one of the largest general book publishers in the UK. Pan Macmillan is part of the Macmillan group, which operates in over 70 countries worldwide. We publish the bestselling title of 2016, Lean in 15 by Joe Wicks, and a range other bestselling authors, including Julia Donaldson, Jeffrey Archer and Jessie Burton. We are the fastest growing publisher in the UK market, and recently won Imprint of Year for Picador.
We are currently looking to recruit a Trade Marketing Designer to join the Sales department to support the UK Sales team.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to create sell-in materials for the UK and International trade, providing highly-finished visuals/dummies for presentations and designing POS materials for trade use. You will also be responsible for liaising with other stakeholders to ensure all materials are on-brand and available on schedule.
You will design and produce a wide range of publications, point of sale items and many other tools to assist the sales team. Day to day you will be running a variety of design projects, and working with internal departments and teams, as well as understanding project requirements and target audiences. Briefs will be wide ranging and you will need to be as comfortable at preparing printed materials as you are at supplying digital assets.
The ideal candidate will be proactive and forward thinking with a strong understanding of publishing genres and markets. A familiarity with UK retailers and with Pan Macmillan is essential.
In addition to the above, the Designer will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to build close-working relationships with colleagues across the business. They must be able to produce high quality art work on an Apple Macintosh using In-design, Quark Xpress, Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Illustrator.
The position is based at our offices in King’s Cross, London.
