This week the @wossy book club- Jonathan Ross' Twitter bookclub for the uninitiated- has been going global. You can now read his first choice, Jon Ronson's The Men Who Stare At Goats, online. All at once now, #wossybookclub!
So, seeing as the internet was where the book club was born, it made sense to look to the internet as a way of making sure The Men Who Stare At Goats is as widely available as possible.
Teaming up with Exact Editions you can now subscribe to online access of the book. By going to http://www.exacteditions.com/menwhostareatgoats you will be able to read the full text, and have access to it for a year, for £4.99. This will allow you to link into specific pages when discussing the book and should make for a chatty book club atmosphere. This is the first time we have put a text up online in this way so it would be interesting to hear your thoughts.
Another first is that between 17.00 and 18.00 on Sunday, the epicentre of the bookclub as it were, we will be making the book freely available. That means anyone will be able to see any page and should further the discussion.
We have also whizzed out a downloadable ebook version which will be available to buy from Waterstones any second now- check out their @waterstones twitter feed for more news, or watch this page on their website. Alternatively once the ebook is up the search "ronson ebook" should pick it up.
We hope that digital editions will help create a vibrant conversation around the book and will let everyone who wants to get their hands on a copy, get their, well, eyes on a copy.
Enjoy! See you this Sunday on Twitter.
