Bharat Jayram Venkat

Dr Bharat Jayram Venkat is an associate professor at UCLA’s Institute for Society & Genetics, with joint appointments in the Department of History and the Department of Anthropology. He is also the founding director of the UCLA Heat Lab, an interdisciplinary initiative to study the social, biological and political dimensions of heat and its unequal effects. Swelter is his first book.
