Synopsis
Two women, both victims of brutal attacks, lie in hospital beds – but is there more to their cases than meets the eye? Wrong Place is the second gripping crime novel in the DC Maggie Neville series from Michelle Davies, following her critically acclaimed debut Gone Astray.
One victim, a vulnerable elderly lady, has been viciously assaulted in her own home. Suspected to be the fifth target of a young couple preying on pensioners, her injuries indicate an alarming escalation in violence from the perpetrators. The other woman, a wife, has been attacked by her own husband, who subsequently fails in his attempt to take his own life.
While there are no apparent connections between the victims, DC Maggie Neville, the Family Liaison Officer involved in both cases, starts to question the circumstances. Is it simply a matter of both women being in the wrong place at the wrong time, or is there a more sinister link?
Set in Buckinghamshire, this psychological thriller delves deep into the world of police procedurals, with a compelling female detective at the helm. Perfect for fans of British crime mysteries and suspenseful whodunits, Wrong Place keeps readers guessing until the very end.
