In a fiercely-contested auction, Rachel Kellehar and Rachel Petty, at Macmillan Children’s Books, secured world rights, all languages, for Out of the Blue by Sophie Cameron and a second title by the hotly anticipated debut author, from Hellie Ogden at Janklow & Nesbit UK.

Out of the Blue will be published in the UK by Macmillan Children’s Books in spring 2018 and in the USA by sister company Roaring Brook Press.

Petty said: “Out of the Blue is the kind of book that makes you stop and think about life in an entirely new light. It's a book about grief and about finding your place in the world, when angels are falling out of another. It's hopeful and heartfelt and completely unique - and we believe Sophie Cameron has the potential to go on to be a leading light in children's and YA literature.”

Sophie Cameron is a Scottish YA writer currently living in Spain, represented by Hellie Ogden at Janklow & Nesbit UK.
