Pan Macmillan authors Cynthia Erivo and Leah Williamson have been recognised in King’s New Years Honours List.
Wicked: For Good star - and author of memoir Simply More - Cynthia Erivo is appointed an MBE (Member of the British Empire) for services to music and drama. Erivo called the news "an honour I could never have thought would happen".
England captain, two-time European champion and author of You Have the Power and The Wonder Team series with her cousin Jordan Glover - Leah Williamson is made a CBE (Commander of the Order of the British Empire) having previously received an OBE in the New Year Honours List of 2023.
There are 1,157 recipients in this year’s list, which celebrates individual outstanding achievements and contributions to British society.
Sir Keir Starmer said: “This year’s Honours list celebrates the very best of Britain – people who put the common good ahead of themselves to strengthen communities and change lives. Their quiet dedication speaks to the decent, compassionate country we are proud to be. On behalf of the whole nation, thank you – and congratulations to everyone recognised today.”
Pan Macmillan CEO Joanna Prior was also recognised in the King’s New Years Honours List, being awarded an OBE for services to publishing and literacy.
