Picador announces key promotions across editorial and communications

Following a successful start to 2026, Picador has announced a series of key promotions across its editorial and communications teams, taking place with immediate effect.

In the editorial team, Orla King has been promoted from Commissioning Editor to Senior Commissioning Editor. King, who was named a Bookseller Rising Star in 2024, will continue to report to Publisher Mary Mount. Lewis Russell has also stepped up, having been promoted to Editor, and will continue reporting to Publishing Director Andrea Henry.

Within the communications and marketing team, Kieran Sangha has been promoted to Publicity Manager. Sangha has successfully led the communications on Toshikazu Kawaguchi’s Before the Coffee Gets Cold series, alongside dynamic UK tours and global publishing moments for authors like Emily St John Mandel and Kiran Milwood. 

Eve Lynch has been promoted to Senior Marketing Executive in recognition of her remarkably innovative approach to book campaigning for a diverse roster of voices, including Brian Bilston, Sarah Moss, and Michelle Zauner. Sangha will continue reporting to Publicity Director Kate Green, and Lynch will continue to report to Head of Marketing Elle Gibbons.

Mary Mount commented on the editorial promotions: 'Orla is a superstar editor. She has had great success running the publishing of the phenomenon that is Toshikazu Kawaguchi and poet and national treasure Brian Bilston, as well as launching Grainne O'Hare's debut novel, Thirst Trap, shortlisted for newcomer of the year at the Irish Book Awards and the showstopping Korean novel, Holy Boy, by Lee Heejoo. Over the last year she has acquired the new novel Diana by the author of Vladimir, Julia May Jonas;  Rebecca Birrell's Venus, Vanishing and Gym by Verena Vessler. She is a passionate and committed editor with wonderful taste and I cannot wait to see what she does in the years ahead'

On Russell's promotion, Mount added: 'Lewis is a brilliant and meticulous editor and over the last couple of years has worked with stellar authors such as China Mieville, Henry Gee and Michael Bond who have all hugely valued his input on their books. I look forward to seeing him commission and edit fabulous books in the years ahead.'
