Picador appoints agent David Evans as non-fiction editor
Picador, Pan Macmillan's literary imprint, today announces the appointment of David Evans as Editor for Non-Fiction.
Evans joins the publisher following a landmark year for the division, which recently celebrated Patrick Radden Keefe’s London Falling becoming the biggest-selling non-fiction title of the year.
Picador has also seen success with non-fiction titles including Steve Brusatte’s The Story of Birds and Sathnam Sanghera’s Tonight The Music Seems So Loud.

Evans brings a decade of agency experience from David Higham Associates, where he worked with authors including J. M. Coetzee, Sebastian Payne and Tsitsi Dangarembga, as well as with Picador authors Kae Tempest and Raymond Antrobus. He also worked closely with the estates of Graham Greene, Eric Hobsbawm and Dylan Thomas in his role as associate agent at the company.
At Picador he will be taking on the publishing of existing authors including Henry Gee, Michael Bond, Ben Jacob and Christophe Galfard, as well as contributing to new non-fiction acquisitions in areas such as philosophy, politics, science, nature and social, cultural and literary history.

Evans joins the team on Monday 7th September and will report to non-fiction publishing director Andrea Henry. He takes over the editor role from Lewis Russell, who has joined the publishing team at Royal Museums Greenwich.
