Sara Lloyd and Madhumita Murgia to speak at FutureBook Conference 2025

Pan Macmillan is delighted to announce the participation of Sara Lloyd, our Global AI Lead and Group Communications Director, who will be speaking alongside Financial Times AI Editor and Picador author Madhumita Murgia at the Future Book Conference.

The highly anticipated session, titled "Innovation: Reclaiming the lead," will take place on the main stage at the conference on Monday 1st December. The strategic discussion will be expertly moderated by author and associate editor for FutureBook Molly Flatt.

This conversation is set to be a fantastic insight into how technology is actively impacting the publishing sector, featuring two of the leading voices in the global discourse around artificial intelligence and its implications. Sara and Madhumita will cover critical topics concerning the development and integration of AI and its rapidly evolving influence across the creative and commercial elements of the publishing world.

The discussion will explore what the industry needs to do now to get ahead, and how leadership in publishing can evolve to ensure that the industry is in charge of how technology unfolds and is implemented in future.

This collaboration is particularly significant given Madhumita Murgia’s strong connection to Pan Macmillan after her highly acclaimed non-fiction title, Code Dependent, was published by Picador in March of this year. The book, which investigates the widespread societal impact of AI, was shortlisted for the Women's Prize for Non-Fiction 2024.

Pan Macmillan is proud to have Sara Lloyd representing the company on this important platform, furthering our commitment to thought leadership and strategic evolution in the digital era.
