Jill Howarth earned her degree in graphic design. After graduating from Penn State University, she took a design job at Hasbro Toys, and eventually became an art director in their preschool toys division. During her time in the corporate design world, she occasionally found herself embellishing collateral and product packaging with cute little drawings. Her talent was quickly recognised, and requests started coming in for more and more of her illustrations. Very soon, Jill found herself doing more drawing and less layout design
Since leaving the corporate design world and starting a family, Jill has continued to work as a freelance artist. Inspired by all things mid-century, and in particular children's books, her charming style and wonderfully expressive characters have earned her admiration from clients across the world, including Hallmark, Klutz, Parragon, Razorfish and Scholastic to name a few.
