Synopsis
When Suyin—a bookish, socially-anxious princess from an old but impoverished kingdom—is forced to wed for political reasons, she approaches Yue Lao, the God of Love, to help facilitate her marriage. After all, Yue Lao is much like the Cupids-from-across-the-sea Suyin has read so much about. And while, unlike the Cupids, he might not use arrows laced with love potions, he always finds his clients their perfect match.
But Yue Lao is old, crotchety and on the brink of retirement. So he offers Suyin an alternative: will she hire one of his Cupids-in-Training instead? The old god offers up his newest apprentice who, with a knack for brewing love potions and unmatched skills with a bow and arrow, seems to be exactly what Suyin is looking for.
Enter Tao: devilishly handsome, arrogant . . . and infuriatingly inexperienced at this whole Cupid thing.
