Synopsis

Meet Burke: a young dog (part German Shepherd, part Husky, wolf at heart) who just wants to find his forever home, especially after he fails to meet the rigorous standards of a training programme for service animals. (After a minor incident involving a rabbit which Burke maintains really wasn't his fault.)
Enter Jake: a grieving philosophy professor. Persuaded to foster Burke temporarily by his dog-trainer sister, Jake finally has a reason to get out of bed in the morning. Slowly - one dog walk at a time - the broken pieces of Jake's heart begin to mend. But Burke starts to realise what Jake does not: what he really needs is a bigger pack. And where better to find Jake a new human in his life than at the local dog park . . .
