Pan Macmillan launches new AI apprenticeship
This week (November 12th) Pan Macmillan launched a new AI Apprenticeship program, delivered in partnership with Hearst UK and educational provider Multiverse.

The aim of the practical course is for attendees to develop their understanding of AI and the possibilities of using AI through a “human in the loop” lens.
A total of 35 learners, including 20 Pan Macmillan employees, gathered at the Multiverse offices in Paddington to kick off the initiative and hear from the program's key sponsors: Briony Grogan, Director of People and Culture at Pan Macmillan, and John Athanasiou, People Director for Hearst UK.
The launch featured a chat led by Rick Yantek, Multiverse AI Coach, with Pan Macmillan CEO Joanna Prior and Hearst UK CEO Katie Vanneck-Smith. The discussion emphasised the crucial role of curiosity and creativity when engaging with AI and learning new skills, with both CEOs sharing valuable tips for the new cohort on how to best approach the challenging and rewarding 14-month program.
‘I am delighted to be collaborating with John Athanasiou at Hearst UK to launch this Multiverse AI apprenticeship and provide this unique learning experience for our people at Pan Macmillan.’
Briony Grogan, Director of People and Culture at Pan Macmillan
This dedicated group from Pan Macmillan will regularly meet and discuss their insights and projects from the apprenticeship with Sara Lloyd, Pan Macmillan’s Global AI Lead, and the company's AI steering group.
